Whether taking job just after graduating from high school or not?

It has been such a long time since the last time I posted a new note on this blog :)

Topic: Many people suggest that after graduating from high school, students should take a job immediately. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

After graduating from high school, students have to face the dilemma of whether continuing to study at university or seeking for an actual occupation. Many people argue that getting a job is much beneficial for young people to gain practical experience. Personally, I strongly disagree with this statement for the following reasons.

Finding a well – paid job with no qualifications is incredibly challenging nowadays. Currently, owing to the economic recession in 2008, many enterprises have been bankrupted abruptly. Obviously, a large number of experienced workers are unemployed, which makes the job market become highly competitive. Additionally, because of not acquiring specialized knowledge, young students are only able to take a manual employment with low salary, namely a waiter or a cleaner. As a result, people cannot afford a stable life with high living standards.

Furthermore, studying at university provides essential skills and information for the future career.  Admittedly, university plays a pivotal role in giving an opportunity of practicing prior to entering the actual profession. Hardly do people work in accomplished sectors, particularly neurology or medical care, without both several training years and specialized knowledge of these fields. Therefore, achieving university education acts as a precursor to the development of personal career.

In conclusion, it is not an easy answer for this argument in the short term. Nevertheless, learning at university not only fortifies individual background but also gives candidates a huge advantage in the process of seeking for a job.

Essay: Death penalty

Topic: By punishing murderers with the death penalty, society is also guilty of committing murder. Therefore, life in prison is a better punishment for murderers.
To what extend do you agree or disagree with this statement.

OR

Crime is always one of the most controversial issues in any community. There is a heated argument that the violent criminal who killed other people must be taken the death punishment in any cases. However, other people debate that the rest of life in jail is a better solution for them and I agree with this. In this essay, I will analyze in detail.

While it is undeniable that murder is the worst crime a person can create, however in some situation, people have to change the way of judgment.  Perhaps, individual who is a victim of bullying or treating in a bad way just kill other people to protect themselves. For illustration, there are various cases that a woman who is a victim of rape tries to get out this through attacking other people. Therefore, making the death penalty for the murder should depend on the situation.

On the other hand, a lot of murderers have killed people in purpose, they have lost their personality and human being. Therefore, the death is suitable for them and for the society. However, if the criminal is still good enough to educate, the education in prison may be a better solution to change  their life. A classic example for it is that the murderer will understand their fault and correct it through contributing to the community by doing voluntary works in the prison. This penalty will help the murderers have another opportunity to change their life in to a better way.
In conclusion, death may not be the worst punishment for the murderers. Living in the prison can help them do more good works for the society and let them suffer the consequence which they created.

Writing task1: How people received the information in the UK from 1987 to 1997

The line graphs show the percentage of people approaching the international and regional occurrences  through 3 instruments of the mass media which were TV, newspaper and radio over a decade between 1987 and 1997 in the UK.
As can be seen, there were nearly 70 percent of UK’s population got the world news through television in 1987 before decreasing noticeably by 10 percentages two years latter. In the next seven years, the proportion of population getting information through TV fluctuated between 70 and 65 percent, which nearly doubled the percent of newspaper just fluctuating at 20 percent. In addition, people receiving the news through radio remained steadily at 10 percent over the surveyed period.

On the other hand, most of local happenings were update by newspaper, which was employed by approximately two third of population. However, it nosedived substantially to nearly 45 percent in 1989 and kept decreasing to 40 percent in 1997. Meanwhile, the figures of television started at lower point, just 20 percent in 1987 before soaring markedly in the rest of decade to about 40 percentages in 1997. Radio was the least popular method which accounted for 10 percent during the whole ten years.

Essay: Parent punishment should or should not

Many parent use punishment to teach the difference between right and wrong to kids. Many think punishment is necessary to held children learn the distinction between right and wrong. To what extend do you agree and disagree?

In the modern life, it is undoubtedly true that punishment is the easiest way for parent to point out their children what is right or wrong. At the first sight, this seems effective but on closer, many people argue that this method’s disadvantages dominate its advantages and I strongly agree with it. In this essay, this argument will be analysed in detail.

It is fairly easy to understand the reason why this proposal has been made. The reason is that whenever the kids make wrong thing, they will be punished and the next time they will not do the same thing. These would be at least two disadvantages to this. Not only the physical injury but also the psychological wound has been created. For example, if the children are suffered a lot of punishment, they will scare everything and not try to do new things because of being punished.

This is also, however, a strong argument not to implement this proposal. This argument is base on that retribution can turn the children into a bad manner. Let’s take an illustration. If the children has been suffered too much punishment from their parent because of doing wrong things, there will be two ways for their upbringing. One is that they scare everything and another way is that they will hate their parent and no longer care about being punished so they will become a bad manner of society.

In a nutshell, it can not deny the affection of punishment in teaching children. There are both disadvantages and advantages in this issue. My own personal view is that if the children do wrong things, parent should sit down and analyse for them why it is wrong and in the next time they should not do it again.

Essay: Keeping pets

Topic: Too much attention is paid to and too much money is spent on keeping pets, while people through out the world are starving.

Discuss the arguments for and against keeping  pets.

Recently, keeping pets is one of the most controversial issues. It has generated a lavish deal of heated debate in over the world. Reportedly, the amount of money spent on keeping pets is increasing gradually instead of using for many starving regions whilst some people are in the opposite side. In this essay, I am going to analyze this issue from both points of view.

It is unarguable that ore and more money are invested in pets. Taking Paris Hilton as an example, she is a rich woman and she has just built a luxury house for her pets, which costs approximately 1 million dollars. If this amount of money used for donating some volunteer action, many famine could be fought back. From this, it can be said that humans are wasting their money for many unimportant purpose such as keeping pets instead of investing in more beneficial goals.

On the other hand, many recent researches have shown that pets play an important role in human’s life. In the modern life, young people are too busy with their business, their family and career. Sometimes they forget their responsibility with the old such as their parent or grandparent. So the old people have t share their emotions with their friends or their loyal pets. Besides that, pets such as dog are very helpful in guiding the blind people. For this reason, keeping pets is essential demand, which makes world more interesting and colorful.

My personal conclusion is that although keeping pets makes us invest time and money but it is undoubtedly that life will be much more monotonous if it is without pets

Writing task 1: Causes of land degradation

The pie chart indicates the percentage of farmland becoming less solid because of different reasons which are deforestation, over – cultivation and over – grazing. Besides that, the table shows the result of these causes in specific areas which are North America, Europe and Oceania by percentage in 1990s.

As can be seen, the main reasons making agricultural land become less solid were over – grazing and deforestation with 35% and 30%. Over – cultivation also transformed farmland into less productive, with 28%, which is four times of the percentage of farmland destroyed by other reasons.

According to the table, Europe is an area which had the biggest land become less productive with 23% of total Europe’s land, which is almost four times of total degraded land in North America, only 5%. In addition, the land affected by 3 main causes in Europe was higher than 2 other areas. Most land in Oceania was degraded by over – grazing with 11,3% of total land in this region.
In overall, the large amount of farmland was become less solid because of humans demand. Especially in Europe, the amount of less solid land was the biggest number among 3 regions.

Essay: Affection of technologies on human's relationship

Topic: Nowadays, the way people interact with each other has changed because of technology.
In what way has technology affected the type of relationship people make?
Has this become a positive or negative development?

Nowadays, the way many individuals keep in touch with each other is an issue which frequently generates a great deal of heated debate. With supporters remaining that it is vital to accept that technologies create a good effect on making people become nearer, whilst opponents claim that now people only know about their virtual world and forget the real world. The arguments surrounding such issue will be hence be discussed in this essay.

Upon initial examinations, it cannot be denied that today, people always interact with each other through social networks such as Facebook. Taking my experience as an example, in 5 years ago, on my birthday, a lot of my friends came and gave me presents and the best regard but now, a lot of notifications and e – mails send to me instead of the real people on that day. As a consequence, more and more individuals communicate through the social networks instead of meeting each other.

However, it is not always the case. Despite the fact that technologies have a lot of advantages but it makes a large impact on human’s relationship. Up to a point, many people become lazy and cannot control themselves. The most obvious instance to prove is that everyday it announces a lot of teenager criminal who has addicted game online. That is to say, technologies also have negative affect that people should avoid.

Taking everything into consideration, it can be concluded that the benefits of technologies still far outweigh the obstacles. The course of action would be to attempt to achieve a balance between improvement of technology and the human’s interaction. It is my firm conviction that people should communicate to other people by meeting each other instead of using modern technologies
